I have just added my small Witch Hazel Lamp to Etsy. I must just tell you about my friend Hilary Roberts who made the ceramic jug in the photo. Her stuff has featured in a lot of my photos lately. Now if she had a website I'd send you to it right away but she hasn't at the moment. She's doing an MA in Cardiff and I'm looking forward to seeing her new work! I have a lot to thank Hilary for. We used to work at Northlight Studios together a few years ago. It was fun there. It was (and still is) a shared space of about 20 artists. We'd have long lunches (sometimes way too long) and good conversations and bounce ideas off each other. I was right at the beginning of my artistic career and Hilary was an established maker with work in all sorts of galleries including the V&A. At the time I was making papercut cards and was looking for a way to progress my ideas. It was Hilarys idea that I tried making lamps! I saw my future flash before my eyes! I'm glad I listened to her! It was a GREAT idea! She held my hand and helped me approach some galleries and things grew from there.

I've been tagged by Pretty Peoni Designs
I've never been 'tagged' before since being a blogger and I must apologise to Pretty Peoni Designs (sorry girl) for taking so long to respond. I couldn't think of five random things to write about myself. I still can't actually but I thought as I am sitting in bed recovering from a poorly tummy (nasty bug that was) I'd borrow my daughters laptop and just do it!!!
So, the rules of this game...
1. Link to the person who tagged you
2. Post the rules in your blog
3. Write five random things about yourself
4. Tag random people at the end of your post and link to them
5. Let each person know they've been tagged
Hmmmmm.Five Random Things about myself...
1. My favourite animal is an otter. Still love to see one in the wild but never have.
2. I just got tickets to see Yann Tierson in York in May. He's the guy who did the soundtrack for Amelie amongst many other beautiful things. Me and my daughter really love him.
3. Even though I own a lighting shop I have got a bare bulb in my bedroom!...can't find anything just right! (I'm really fussy)
4. My favourite boots have got holes in as I put my feet up on the radiator at the workshop to keep them warm and it's melted into them (took six months before I realised what those strange lines in the soles were...der).
5. My Dad used to run the fan club for Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran...okay so it's not strictly about me...but I always thought it was cool when I was a kid! Rockin Roger! hee hee.
I'm tagging Kate Boyce, RachelLucie and Sally Boyle.

It's time for some thankyou's!
I've had a quiet week this week. It's been half term so I've spent some days with the kids which has been nice! I haven't any new work to show you or anything and even if I had I couldn't take any pics anyway as I've lost my camera charger lead in all the chaos of our building work at home, SO I thought I would take this opportunity to say some THANKYOU's! I have noticed that I have been featured on many blogs over the last few weeks so I have been compling a thankyou link list further down the page. Sorry if I've missed you out...maybe I don't know!
And I have been in some stunning Etsy treasuries too. So big thankyou to Mopani, ThePeppermintLeaf, CreativeBorders, RachelLucie, Finchbird and JenniferLadd who's pussy willow treasury (above) made it to the front page! Thanks everybody! Much appreciated!

Simple Finds
I had a lovely review today on Simple Finds. Go and check it out. You can win one of my small table lamps simply by letting them know which is your favourite one of my designs. Worth a go!

House Lamp
I have just added this House Lamp to my Etsy shop. This design is a bit of a departure from my usual botanical designs and I have lots of ideas to develop this range! The design is printed on and then I cut the windows out so it looks like there are people in their cosy houses. It's inspired by the houses of Hebden Bridge.

Photos at Natalies...
I went to do a photoshoot at my lovely friend Natalies today. She owns Gallery 339 (new online shop coming soon) on Skircoat Green Road in Halifax. Her house is lovely. So calming and pretty and made the perfect backdrop for some of my lamps.
I got home to discover that my Small Goldenrod lamp had been featured on the Etsy finds 'Table for Two' Valentine email which was very exciting! I might have missed it if it wasn't for Sally Boyle and Charlotte from Fancy Picnic who emailed me to let me know! Thankyou!

Love Love Love
It's hard to photograph my fairy lights in one swoop as the string is so long so I've been taking and collaging these pictures all afternoon! There are twenty tiny shades altogether and the string is 5 metres long. They create a very cosy and romantic glow! I can create any message as long as it's less than twenty letters long!

Wintry Walk
Just had a lovely walk up to Horsehold. One thing I like about living in Hebden Bridge is that you don't have to walk very far before you get up high and can see a long way. Now I'm going to the workshop to get cosy...
