A Stop!

My daughter Ffion has been working on a project for months curating a collection of photos to be made into a book. A while a go she started a Flickr group called 'A Stop', and invited photos that expressed 'a moment in time: a pause for breath, in between one thing and the next'.

Inspired by the thousands of photos submitted she picked her hundred favourites and asked photographers from around the world if they would like to appear in her book. Today the first book arrived in the post and we are very excited!!

Her photos have been collected together to create a feeling of awe. They explore the significance of life, suspension, time, magic, silence and beauty. I find the book quite moving. It's beautiful to see which photos she has chosen to express all these things. I feel very proud and inspired by this amazing girl!

You can preview and buy the book here. And to find out more about her forthcoming projects visit her website.

What a wonderful book, a lovely concept. Ffion has the poetic genes of her mother (and maybe her father too...)!
Is this the daughter that is learning Dutch? In that case: Hoi Ffion! Wat heb je een mooi boek gemaakt, echt prachtig, gefeliciteerd! En ik vind het heel erg bijzonder dat je Nederlands aan het leren bent, wat een eer voor zo'n klein landje...
