Personalised lamp giveaway

I need to make some new personalised lamps to take as samples to the British Craft Trade Fair.

I don't want to use fictional names and dates because I'd like them to have homes to go to after the show.

Who would you like one for? I have four to give away. One will be a Tree of Life like this picture with a name and a date, one will have Moons and Stars, one will have Dandelion Clocks and one will be  a Wedding Lamp with the couples names on and a wedding/anniversary date.

Please leave a comment below with the name and a date and which design you fancy. I'll choose my favourites next week and make them in time to take to the show.

After the show I'll send them to you.

Sound good?

Closing date Monday 25th March.

I love your lights! My chosen one would be a moon and stars one (with a bit of sea along the bottom!) and would say The Sea The Sea! after my favourite poem. Maybe in small: I must go down the seas again. Which is really just a cheeky way of saying would you ever consider designing some nautical lights! :)

lovely work - always nice to see properly made individual products in this day of mass produced tat.

My choice would be Tree of Life - it's my mum's 80th Birthday in July so it would be for her - Marlene 19 July 1933.

She's an amazing mum - always putting others before her, so it's nice when I get chances to give her something special in return.

What a lovely and generous offer, Hannah. Best of luck to you at the show. Fingers crossed lots of orders come your way.

My choice would be the Dandelion Lamp. An appropriate motif for a gardener, I think! I'll be 60 at the end of the year and winning this would make that much more bearable, thus the inscription would be, if possible "A dandelion in the Spring....
It is a part of a lovely poem.

Such a lovely idea. I love them all and have 2 special occasions that would fit one of the lamps. My friend Liz has just given birth to 2 beautiful twins Harriet & Poppy and then my good friend's Shell & Andy are getting married soon. Keep up the good work, I hope to visit your shop one day! x

Love your work, so excited about this giveaway!

Tree of Life inscribed with "Bristol 01.12.2012" would be perfect to give the boyfriend on our first anniversary at the end of this year when we'll be literally 9,000 miles apart!

He enjoys studying spiritual philosophy and the concept of the Tree of Life alludes to how all life is interconnected; your lamp would be a great way of saying that we'll see each other again soon. :)

Really do hope my entry will be chosen! *fingers crossed!* Thank you for being so generous with your beautiful creations, you'll be a hit at that craft fair for sure! xx

I recently discovered your talent & absolutely love your lamps! All of the lamps are beautiful. However, if I have to choose one it would be the tree of life with the saying: D + A October 4, 2008 which represents mine & my husband's wedding day. Our wedding theme was the tree of life with D + A "carved" into the tree as our wedding invites. Our cake was designed with the tree of life as well all in a fall setting. I am currently painting a tree on canvas for my husband. We are infatuated with trees :)

I would absolutely love a tree of life or any of the other ones (except the wedding one!!) with Maya 25th May 2005 or Emrys 3rd May 2011 ......... they would be very loved and admired by us Thanks x Tanya

I would like the lovely cow parsley wedding lamp with the names Deb & Ad 1st September 2012. While on honeymoon my brand new husband was asked when we got married...he replied 4th September! Doesn't bode well for future anniversaries if he had the date wrong 3 days after our wedding, I think he is going to need an illuminated reminder!!

Hello Hannah,

I have a little girl called Alma and it's her birthday on Tuesday, her name means 'Soul' in Spanish and Italian. She definitely has a lot of Soul! She was born on 26th March 2012. Apart from Alma from Coronation Street, another famous Alma is a character from a book by Nicola Strauss called 'The History of Love' - the main character is called Alma Singer and represents all women in the world. I would love a lamp to shine her name in our house as she brings much light to our lives.

I'd love the dandelion clock for my daughter Amelia Lily (she's got the X Factor but was named before the show!) with her birth date of 21 March 2010. We love nature and it would be perfect and fun as she tries to blow the dandelion clock and it turns out (with the help of mummy lol)

What a lovely offer. Your lamps are all beautiful but if I was chosen I would pick the moon and stars lamp for my little boy Daniel. We have just moved house and I have wallpapered one wall in his room with a star motif and the lamp would look beautiful along side it.

It would be lovely if the lamp said "Daniel" or "Dare to be a Daniel" as when he was born a lovely older lady sent me these lines:

Dare to be a Daniel
Dare to stand alone
Dare to have a purpose firm
Dare to make it known

I loved it as it made me think of one day sending my tiny baby out into the world with a mighty heart and a strong mind ready to be his own person.

Your work is truly inspirational. I love the Tree of Life Lamp and if I was lucky enough to win it, the wording of my choice would be "Dear Mother" 10th June 1996" for my late Mother, Mary. The Lamp will reflect my ancestral roots, just as the tree of life does.
Kind regards, Maggie

Saw the link through a tweet from snug gallery. Im a designer myself and am really interested in how making, personalisation and memories can add value to objects in addition to their economic costs.

I would love a tree of life lamp with today's date on it as today is my 26th birthday! This would attach personal value and a specific memory to the object.

Here's a little bit of my work if you would be interested to read http://addsomevalue.wordpress.com/2012/07/10/not-who-you-14/

Hello Hannah, my choice would be the Dandelion Clocks lamp for my sister Sarah, aged 41. I remember her holding dandelion clocks and blowing them when she was about 3. She wore a sort of stretch nylon dress made by Ladybird , which you could buy in Woolworth's. It had a floral design and was in brown, orange and pink. A real '70's colour combination. All the seed heads got blown back into her hair and stuck to the dress.
The lamp would be a memory of that for her.
Thanks, Jane

Hi Hannah - I've tried to post this a couple of times with no luck so in a last ditch attempt (even though it's past the deadline) I thought I should try again... I would love to give one of your beautiful lamps to a friend who has just had her first much wanted baby after years of trying. Her name is Annie and she was born on the 21st October 2012. She would love the dandelion clocks with the date on the reverse! Whatever happens, all the best for the fair. We LOVE your lamps and have one for our baby girl as well as fairy lights we were given as a wedding present. Amanda x
