Hazel catkins lamps

I wrote a blog post last month about the hazel catkins I photographed whilst out walking.

They inspired me very much and I'm pleased to have turned it into a lamp design.

It is available in all the lamp shapes  - cylindrical, oval...

and as little candle cover too.

I'm excitedly waiting for this weeks laser cutting to arrive because I'm looking forward to seeing the Hazel Catkins floor lamp that I've made too.

They are all available on my website.

Lamps at Elmet Farmhouse

Today I have been up at the lovely Elmet Farmhouse in Pecket Well installing the lamps I made for Lesley Jackson.

It took a little while because there was a lot of drifting over to the window seats to take in the dreamy views right across the hills. You just can't help it!

The living room is super cosy with lots of seats to curl up in. You can see Stoodley Pike perfectly framed by the mullion windows from that lovely Ercol armchair!

My Paper Meadow Floor lamp will enjoy living in there.

Upstairs, the comfy bedrooms all have my lamps in too

giving their warm, cosy glow.

The house sleeps six people, with one double bed and four singles. Looks really comfy.

Lesley has a gorgeous textile collection adorning the walls around the house.

I love how she displays is with the selvedge showing. They are little pieces of history.

As you can see it is a pattern rich house and soon my teal Paper Meadow wallpaper will be joining the collection in the upstairs bathroom.

I invite you to look at Lesley's lovely photo's of the house, inside and out on her brand new Elmet Farmhouse website. She has worked so hard restoring this old house and she is very excited that it is now open for bookings.

Fancy it?

Fairy lights in the Appeltaart house!

There are some very special moments in this designer/maker life that just make making things so worthwhile. Yesterday when Guusje sent me pictures of the fairy lights that I sent her in her beautiful house I had one of those moments! Her gorgeous light and airy house in Holland is adorned in colourful fairy lights and garlands that I have often admired on her blog (Guusje's Appeltaart) and now I am very happy that my fairy lights are part of the collection!

Quote Guusje (she is so poetic) 'At night time we look at our fairy light collection and are over the moon with all those stars around us'.

There are more of her pictures of course on her blog, but also on my 'Hannah Nunn Lamps at Home ' blog where I am collecting pictures of my lights in peoples homes. If you have any do send them over! I'd love to see. x

Hannah Nunn lamps at home

I would love to know where all my lamps go when I say goodbye to them at the Post Office and send them out into the world! Sometimes people send me photos so I get to see them in their new homes which is lovely. I thought I'd gather all the pictures together and share them on my brand new blog Hannah Nunn lamps at home.

If you have one, do email it over and I'll add yours too...

This years trip to Hastings

I have just a had a few days away visiting my lovely friends Wendy and Chris in their gorgeous house in Hastings. (Have look at the post of our last visit cos there are lots of pictures...it's so lovely). Wendy has a brilliant eye for 'old stuff' - vintage, antiques and junk and her house is full of beautiful collections of things! Hastings is the perfect place for this as it is FULL of antique yards and shops in which to rummage! She has rummaged well and her house is very inspiring!

So we had to go for a good look around the shops. This was an amazing one - a mixture of old and new set in an old hardware shop. The owner has kept the original fixtures and fittings and has set beautiful products in amongst all the old drawers, shelves and nooks and crannies. It's a really unique and exciting space.

The weather was pretty bleak mostly. We lasted about 5 minutes on the beach. Hard to imagine that this time last year, only a few weeks before we were swimming in that sea. brrrrrrrrr.

It was lovely to stay all tucked up in the house with the wind howling just drinking tea and catching up! We built Wendy an Esty shop. I have been nudging her to do it for ages and now she has. It's really pretty. Here are some of her decorations...

I took some work to a brand new and very lovely gallery called Cuckoo Cuckoo Contemporary Crafts. It's a tiny space but has lots of beautiful work- ceramics, textiles, paintings, prints....and now some lamps too which suit the space quite nicely! It was nice to meet Sarah-Jane Whittaker who runs the gallery with her husband Paul. She's a jeweller who has a jewellery school in Eastbourne. They have been running artists open houses for years and were inspired to open a gallery. Good idea. It's lovely!

I did a little photoshoot in Wendys house too, inspired to use some of their lovely things as props. There were some nice ones but they are all a little bit dark. I'm still working on them though.
.

Thanks Wendy. Nice to know we can fit quite alot in a couple of days. I had a lovely time!xxx

Hello

Hello again. Long time no speak... I've been very quiet on the blog for a few weeks. Things have been busy here.... at work and at home. I have started to redesign my website. It's due for an overhaul. I want to re think my menus and make it easier to add new products as I design them. I've learned SO much whilst designing my Radiance site that I want apply my new knowledge to my Hannah site too so it will run more smoothly. I want to make it easier to order the personalised stuff too because at the moment that involves lots of too-ing and fro-ing!

It's also inspired some new photos. I have found a beautiful house to do a photoshoot in at some point soon. I'm looking forward to that!

Oh, I bought this String of beads plant today from Easy Cactus. I've always loved these but not had much luck with them. Wendy gave me a cutting last year but it didn't last long. I thought if I got a fairly established plant this time I might have more luck. I promise to take good care of you.....

My Mums Christmas Lamp

I just found this picture of the lamp I made for my Mum for Christmas for the fireplace in their new house. It fitted just right and looks like it has been there forever. (We know the wicker cat is abit scary looking but has been in our family home a LONG time and we like him)!

A lamp in it's new home

Alice from Simply The Nest just let me know that she has blogged about my work after buying an allium lamp at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair at the weekend. It is such a gorgeous write up and such a visual treat that i wanted to share it with you. She took some lovely pictures of the lamp in situ. I hardly ever get to see where my little creations end up so it's lovely when this happens! It's has obviously gone to a beautiful home!

The Handmade Home

Julian and Sarah from Jam Gifts in Wakefield bought some lamps to accompany their Angie Lewin print for their bedroom. They love craft and it sounds like their house is full of beautiful things! They are currently putting together a new collection for their shop called 'The Handmade Home' which will feature work lovingly handmade in Britain. There will be clocks, linocut pictures, carved decorative items and some of my lamps which I'll be sending them next week!

Hannah Nunn Lamps at Home

The first 'Hannah Nunn Lamps at Home' picture has come in. Thanks Dad! It shows one of my old floor lamp designs. I still get asked for them a lot but I had awful trouble making them. I kept losing them to the laminating machine and it was very upsetting after the amount of care that went into cutting them. In the end I decided to stop making them. Boo hoo! They were great while they lasted. If you have one they're very rare...not many of them out there! Do send your pictures! Remember I'll give you a voucher for 10% off further sales...well it's something isn't it!

Your Lamps In Your Homes

Did anyone get a Hannah Lamp for Christmas? If you did I would LOVE to hear from you. I am always intrigued to see what they look like in all the myriad of different homes that they go to. Occasionaly I pass a house in Hebden Bridge that has one in and it's really nice to see! So if you have one of my lamps in your house and you could take a quick snap of it and send it to me that would be wonderful! As a thankyou I'll give you a 10% discount on any further purchases that you make in the next year. Some of them I'll feature here on the blog.

Email your pictures to me and let me know your name, where you live, where you bought your lamp from.... and anything else that you'd like to say!

Many thanks in advance! x
